It was announced last week at a prestigious Award ceremony in Ascot that Nest Homecare were the winners of the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards “New Start-up of the Year”. Nest were nominated in Autumn 2017, then shortlisted early in December along with 4 other local companies.
Nest Homecare are proud to be registered and regulated by the CQC but who are they and why do they matter?

How important is person-centred care?

Person-centred care has become a buzzword in the care industry recently but what does it actually mean to Nest and our clients?
Person-centred care is not just about providing people with care, it is about focusing on wishes, values, lifestyle, family and social circumstances as a whole - seeing the person as an individual. It also involves looking at things from their perspective and being respectful of this point of view. When this is done it is possible to work together with everyone involved to develop appropriate and invaluable solutions.
We are delighted that Andrea, our Registered Care Manager is now a Dementia Friends Champion
A Dementia Friends Champion is a volunteer who encourages others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help.
Andrea attended training and is now one of the 10,500 volunteer Dementia Friends Champions creating dementia friendly communities. The initiative was created by The Alzheimer's Society and there are now over 2 million Dementia Friends in the UK.
We were delighted to attend the annual Windsor & Eton Rotary Club Summer Fayre at Alexandra Gardens over the weekend.
The rain did try to make an appearance but couldn't dampen our spirits at the Rotary Club Summer Fayre in Windsor last Saturday.
The Fayre was buzzing with music and excitement as the crowds flocked to Alexandra Gardens to chat with us about our home care support services, buy local produce and find some unique purchases.
The excitement was at it's maximum when the little plastic ducks were unleashed in the Thames, but alas, we didn't win!!
As a leading home care support provider in Windsor, we love taking our Clients out and about in the town - here's why.
We feel extremely lucky for our Home care business to be based in Windsor, as many of our Elderly Clients are. We love being able to take them out and enjoy the area - there's so much to see and do even if it's just for an hour or so.
