What independent help and advice is available when finding the best home care provider for you or your loved one

The main source of information has to be from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This is the regulatory body for all health and social care including hospitals, GPs and home care providers. The CQC monitor, inspect and regulate health and social care services. They publish what they find, including ratings to help you choose care. You can be assured that anyone registered with the CQC is authorised to offer personal care and administer medication, and they will have all the correct processes and procedures in place. This differs from services provided by Personal Assistants (PAs) who are not regulated and cannot provide such services. The CQC website is https://www.cqc.org.uk/ and search for home care providers in your area, or by name specifically. You can read the report of the CQC Inspector's findings and the rating. You can read Nest Homecare's Good report at http://nesthomecare.co.uk.
The other great source of information is homecare.co.uk. You can search by provider name or by location. It contains details on the company plus reviews from people who've used the services with their comments and their ratings. Nest Homecare has a score of 9.9/10 with 21 reviews.
